Routine checks
- Oil level, temperature, color, odor, foam, water, contamination and leak condition.
- Filter indicator, replacement interval and correct filter specification.
- Pump, motor, coupling, noise, vibration, pressure and heat.

Oil replacement
Use the manufacturer-approved viscosity and specification. Record operating hours, environment, laboratory analysis when justified, filter changes and contamination events. Do not mix unknown oils or treat a color change alone as the complete condition assessment.
Safety
Support the ram by the approved mechanical method, complete lockout/tagout, release pressure and use qualified personnel. Never work under an unsupported ram or loosen pressurized components.
