Press Brake Repair & Diagnostics

Identify the machine, issue, location, production impact, parts need, installation requirement, training need, or warranty question.

Diagnose bending accuracy, motion and hydraulic performance

A press brake is a system of frame geometry, hydraulic pressure and flow, cylinders, proportional or servo valves, Y1/Y2 feedback, CNC, backgauge axes, tooling, crowning, material and operator setup. Repair starts by separating machine faults from tooling, material and process assumptions.

Common service categories

  • Machine will not start, hydraulic pump faults, pressure loss, overheating, noise, leaks or slow motion.
  • Y1/Y2 synchronization, ram parallelism, linear-scale, valve, calibration and reference faults.
  • X, R, Z1, Z2 or other backgauge axis alarms, position error, collision, drive, motor, encoder or mechanical problems.
  • Controller boot, program, tooling library, material database, network, backup and software problems.
  • Angle variation, flange-length error, bow, inconsistent bends, crowning, tooling alignment and material springback.
  • Safety light curtain, laser guard, foot pedal, emergency stop, door, interlock and safety-chain faults.

Information to send

  1. Manufacturer, model, serial number, year, tonnage, working length and controller.
  2. Axis list, alarm code, hydraulic pressure, oil temperature, recent work and whether the problem affects all parts or one program.
  3. Punch, die, V-opening, bend length, material grade, thickness, grain direction, target angle and measured result.
  4. Photographs, videos, controller screens, nameplates, tooling and sample parts by reply email.

Capacity and safety

Do not continue bending when the tooling load, tonnage, hydraulic condition, guarding or ram/backgauge motion is uncertain. Machine tonnage alone does not prove that a bend is safe; the material, length, V-opening, bending method, tooling rating and load distribution must all be checked.
