Laser Nozzle Selection & Centering

Connect the production requirement to the right machine family, exact configuration, facility plan, delivery scope, ownership path, and technical resources.

Nozzle geometry and centering control the gas jet at the cut

Nozzle type, diameter, condition, standoff and centering must match the material, thickness, gas, pressure, pierce and process sheet.

Selection factors

  • Single or double layer and approved head design.
  • Orifice diameter, taper and material quality.
  • Oxygen, nitrogen or compressed-air process and required flow.
  • Material thickness, pierce method, kerf and edge requirement.

Centering check

Use the machine/head-approved centering procedure and target. Confirm the ceramic, nozzle threads, head, capacitive sensor and gas path are clean and undamaged. Replace a distorted, burned, contaminated or damaged nozzle rather than attempting to compensate with parameters.

Symptoms of poor centering or condition

Directional cut-quality differences, unstable piercing, asymmetric dross, excessive gas use, frequent collision or capacitive alarms can indicate nozzle or centering issues, but focus, optics, height, gas and motion must also be checked.

Request nozzles, ceramics or consumables.
