Fiber Laser Cutting Brass & Copper

Connect the production requirement to the right machine family, exact configuration, facility plan, delivery scope, ownership path, and technical resources.

Reflective materials require approved source, head and process limits

Brass and copper can create significant back-reflection and thermal challenges. The exact alloy, thickness, surface, source, cutting head, optical protection, gas, piercing strategy and acceptance result must be approved.

Before quoting

  • Identify alloy and temper, not only brass or copper.
  • Provide typical and maximum thickness, sheet size, surface condition and protective film.
  • Define hole, contour, edge, discoloration, dross, tolerance and downstream requirements.
  • Confirm the laser source and head are rated for the application and power class.

Process and safety

Use approved parameters, nitrogen or other specified assist gas, proper optics and protective-window inspection. Avoid unapproved trial cutting that can expose the source or head to damaging reflection.

Sample validation

Critical work should be tested on representative material and recorded in a process sheet. A general maximum-thickness chart is not enough for reflective metals.

Request a brass or copper application review.

Planning pathway

Application and capacity

Define material, geometry, thickness or capacity, production volume, quality, workflow, and future work.

Machine and facility

Compare configuration, controller, options, utilities, extraction, footprint, access, unloading, and placement.

Ownership and support

Confirm price path, delivery, startup, training, warranty, service, parts, financing, rental, used, or trade-in options.
